Initially the First World War narrowed the policy-making divisions, as they all came to dealher with the Burgfriede, which was declared on the fourth  high-flown as a political truce between all parties. However, this political maven was not to last as the military were unable to comport on their promise of a quick victory so Germany soon became increasingly slim by the war. Unity began to disband and the Kaiser became a politically removed(p) figurehead who spent most of his time tucked external which created divisions as he failed to promote the image of a strengthened and caring leader. Furthermore, German politics suffered polarisation as the unexpended and right became more extreme, divisions were caused by differing views over war aims and growing concern over the establishment of the Silent Dictatorship.

The start world war definitely narrowed political divisions ab initio which can be shown through Burgfriede which was introduced on 4th August to symbolise the political truce between all parties, purge the supposedly unpatriotic Social Democrat Party gave their nourish for what was presented as a defensive war.



However this political unity did not last as the military was unable to deliver on the quick victory that they had promised, and as the Schlieffen Plan failed and the obese losses in battles such as Verdunn, the unity of the parties began to fracture. by and by Falkenhayn failed to find alternative strategies to break the stalemate and as a result Falkenhayn was replaced with military hero Hindenburg.
